FAQ

Who are horseback riding trips for?
Are the expeditions suitable for beginners?
Our tours are designed to provide enjoyment for every rider who has already mastered the basics of horseback riding. We consider a “safe start” in our tours to be when you can move freely at a gallop and have control over a well-trained horse in an open space.
Is there an age limit?

Our expeditions are designed primarily for adults looking for an active holiday in the saddle.

People aged 16 and over can participate in the expedition under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

At Equi Expeditions, we know that age is just a number, which is why we do not have an upper age limit.

Do you need to be in good physical condition?

Horseback riding is pure pleasure, but it’s worth remembering that a multi-day trip is a form of active recreation.

If you’re healthy and generally mobile, our trips are definitely for you!

If you haven’t been in the saddle for a while, we suggest a few refresher rides before your trip – your body will definitely thank you for it during the trip.

Is there a weight limit?

Yes, for the health and well-being of our horses, we have adopted a rider weight limit of 110 kg.

Our expeditions take us through very diverse terrain, often requiring climbing hills and long distances. The appropriate ratio of rider weight to the horse’s physical capabilities is crucial to avoid overloading our mounts, which are our most important travel partners.

Preparation for the expedition
How to dress for a horse ride?

We recommend comfortable trousers, gloves and high, flat-soled riding boots (or low boots with half chaps) as well as clothing appropriate for the weather.

Do I need my own helmet?

We provide safety helmets, but participants are welcome to use their own safety equipment, including a helmet or vest.

Should I bring anything extra?

It is worth taking a few extra things, such as water, a raincoat, a small backpack, a power bank, and a waterproof phone case.

Security
Will I be insured when taking part in the trip?
Yes, every rally participant is covered by Personal Accident Insurance (NNW) and Medical Expenses (KL). We also recommend bringing a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) and purchasing additional private travel insurance.
Are safety helmets mandatory?
During the rally, all participants are required to wear a protective helmet.
Can I use additional protective equipment (e.g. vests)?
Participants may use their own personal protective equipment, such as safety vests.
Do I need to have a first aid kit with me?

Safety is our priority, so we take a first aid kit with basic medical equipment on every trip.

For your personal comfort, we encourage you to bring a few of your own essentials, such as sunscreen, insect repellent, or plasters for abrasions.

Organization and reservations
Will I receive support in organizing travel or arrival for the expedition?

You’ll need to arrange your own transportation or flights to the meeting point, but we’re happy to help you plan your trip. After booking, we’ll send you suggestions for convenient connections and other practical tips.

Is it possible to organize an individual horse tour?

If there are enough participants, we will organize an exclusive horseback riding tour tailored to your group’s needs, preferred destination, and date.

Is it possible to choose food preferences?

We offer meal customization options, including those for vegetarians. Please let us know when registering.

How large are the groups on expeditions?

Group sizes depend on the chosen destination. The smallest groups usually have around 8 people, while the largest can have up to 18 participants. The exact number always depends on the specific route and the nature of the expedition.
